Pen & paper

Bounce the ball off walls and old lines toward your goal. One wrong move and it's stuck.

Join spots with lines that never cross; each spot holds three ends. No move left — you lose.

Board

Drop discs and line up four in a row — across, down, or diagonally.

Five-in-a-row on a 15×15 grid. Place stones, block your rival, connect five.

Othello. Outflank your opponent's discs to flip them — most discs wins.

Draughts. Jump to capture, chain multi-jumps, crown kings on the back row.

Sow seeds around the board, capture, and fill your store. Most seeds wins.

Three pawns each on a 3×3 board. Reach the far side or trap your rival.

Order and Chaos

Order aims for five-in-a-row of either symbol; Chaos fills the board to stop it.

Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe

Tic-tac-toe inside tic-tac-toe. Your move decides where your opponent plays next.

Race your pawns across the board. Capture only on the diagonal — first to break through wins.

The fox dodges any way; four hounds advance only forward. Slip past or trap the fox.

Three Men's Morris: place three pieces, then slide along the lines to make a row.

Connect your two sides with an unbroken chain of stones. There are no draws.

Five-in-a-row with a twist: flank a pair of enemy stones to capture them. Five pairs also wins.

Tic-tac-toe with nesting pieces — gobble smaller pieces to build a hidden three-in-a-row.

Rock Paper Scissors

Best of 5. Both pick at once — first to 3 wins.

Guess the Number

A hidden number, 1–100. Take turns narrowing it down — land on it and you lose.

Set a secret colour code, then race to crack your opponent's with black/white peg hints.

Dice

Drop dice into your columns. Match the opponent's column to smash their dice. High score wins.

Roll to build your turn total — but roll a 1 and lose it all. Bank wisely to reach 100.

Snakes & Ladders

Roll and race to 100. Ladders boost you up, snakes drag you down. Pure luck, pure chaos.

Roll five dice up to three times, then score a category. Best scorecard wins.

Ludo (2-player)

Race all four tokens home. Roll sixes to break out, and knock rivals back to base.

The classic race: roll, hit blots onto the bar, and bear all fifteen checkers off first.

Word

One player picks a secret word; the other guesses letter by letter before the figure is complete.

One letter, five categories. Fill them all — unique answers score extra.

Add letters without finishing a word. Complete one — or hit a dead end — and you lose.

Chain words: each must start with the previous word's last letter. No repeats!

Change one letter at a time to reach the target word. Play the target to win.

Same seven letters. Make the longest real word you can — longest wins.

Cards

Flip cards, highest wins. Ties mean war! Pure luck until someone holds all 52.

Flip cards to find matching pairs. Remember what your opponent reveals. Most pairs wins.

Hit or stand to get as close to 21 as you dare. Bust and you're out.

Flip cards onto the pile. When two match — SNAP! — grab the pile. Take all 52 to win.

Ask for ranks you hold to build sets of four. Most books when the cards run out wins.

Shed your hand by matching rank or suit. Eights are wild and change the suit.

Build the lowest hand. Swap and flip across your 2x3 grid; matched columns score zero.

Russian attack-and-defend with trumps. Beat every card or scoop the pile — don't be the fool.
